Bills Come Out on Top in Preseason Opener
Mallory's Five-Yard Sack Sets the Tone for Buffalo's Victory
Chicago Bears Fall 24-21 in Hard-Fought Contest
The Buffalo Bills kicked off their 2023 NFL preseason with a hard-earned 24-21 victory over the Chicago Bears. Defensive lineman Dashaun Mallory set the tone early with a powerful five-yard sack in the Bears' backfield.
The Bills' defense held strong throughout the game, forcing three turnovers and limiting the Bears to just 156 yards of offense. Quarterback Josh Allen led the Bills' offense with 120 passing yards and a touchdown, while running back Devin Singletary added 55 rushing yards and a score.
For the Bears, quarterback Justin Fields struggled, completing only 13 of 28 passes for 104 yards. Running back David Montgomery was a bright spot, rushing for 44 yards and a touchdown.
The victory gives the Bills a positive start to the preseason as they prepare for their regular season opener against the Carolina Panthers on September 11th. The Bears, meanwhile, will look to bounce back next week when they host the Cleveland Browns.
